Creating a Team
Ready to get your squad organized? Creating a team in UltiStackr takes about 30 seconds — and it’s the first step toward ditching the spreadsheets and group chat chaos for good.
Step-by-Step: Create Your Team
- Open UltiStackr and navigate to the Teams section from the sidebar or dashboard.
- Tap or click Create Team.
- Fill in the team details:
- Team Name — The name of your team (e.g., “Portland Rhino Slam” or “Thursday Night Handlers”).
- Team Logo — Upload a logo or avatar for your team. Square images work best (at least 256x256px). You can always change this later.
- Team Slug — A URL-friendly identifier for your team’s shareable link. This auto-generates from your team name, but you can customize it.
- Tap Create Team to confirm.
That’s it — your team is live.
Team Name
Your team name is how your squad shows up across UltiStackr — in the sidebar, on dashboards, in game logs, and anywhere your team is referenced. Pick something your players will recognize.
You can change your team name later from Team Settings. No need to stress about getting it perfect on day one.
Team Logo
Your team logo appears next to your team name throughout the app — in the sidebar, on player profiles, and in game day views. If you don’t upload a logo, UltiStackr generates a default avatar using your team’s initials.
Supported formats: PNG, JPG, or WebP. We recommend a square image at 256x256px or larger for the best results.
Team Slug and Shareable URL
Every team gets a unique URL based on its slug. The slug is the URL-safe version of your team name and forms part of your team’s team page URL:
https://app.ultistackr.com/teams/{your-slug}For example, if your team name is “Portland Rhino Slam” and you set the slug to portland-rhino-slam, your team URL would be:
https://app.ultistackr.com/teams/portland-rhino-slamSlug Rules
- Slugs can only contain lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens.
- Slugs must be unique across all of UltiStackr — if someone already claimed
thunder, you’ll need to pick something else (trythunder-ultimateorthunder-pdx). - You can customize the slug during team creation or change it later in Team Settings.
Changing your team slug will change your team’s URL. Any old links pointing to the previous slug will stop working, so give your players a heads-up before making the switch.
What Gets Created Automatically
When you create a team, UltiStackr sets up a few things for you behind the scenes:
- General Channel — A default team chat channel where all team members can communicate. Think of it as your team’s main group chat, but inside UltiStackr instead of scattered across five different messaging apps.
- Default Lines — Your team starts with a standard O Line and D Line ready to go. You can customize these or add more from Lines & Positions.
- You as Owner — The person who creates the team is automatically assigned the Owner role with full control over every team setting. See Roles & Permissions for what that means.
Once your team is created, the next step is to add your roster — add players manually, invite players directly, or share a team invite code or link.
