Polls

Making team decisions shouldn’t require a 47-message thread. UltiStackr’s polling feature lets you put questions to a vote right inside any channel or group DM — whether you’re picking a tournament jersey color, deciding on practice times, or settling the eternal “zone vs. person” debate once and for all.

Creating a Poll

Any team member can create a poll in a channel or group DM where they have posting permissions.

How to Create a Poll

  1. Open the channel or group DM where you want to post the poll.
  2. Tap the Poll icon in the message toolbar (next to the text input).
  3. Enter your question — this is the main prompt your team will vote on.
  4. Add two or more options for voters to choose from.
  5. Configure your poll settings (see below).
  6. Tap Create Poll to post it to the channel.

The poll appears as a rich message card in the conversation, and teammates can start voting immediately.

Poll Settings

When creating a poll, you can customize how it behaves:

Single Choice vs. Multiple Choice

ModeDescription
Single ChoiceEach voter selects exactly one option. Best for “pick one” decisions like choosing a tournament or selecting a team captain.
Multiple ChoiceVoters can select as many options as they want. Great for availability checks, preference surveys, or “select all that apply” scenarios.

Choose the mode that fits your question. Single choice is the default.

Anonymous Voting

By default, polls are attributed — everyone can see who voted for what. But sometimes you want honest, unfiltered input without social pressure.

Toggle Anonymous mode when creating a poll, and voter identities will be hidden. Only the vote counts are displayed.

Anonymous polls are ideal for sensitive decisions like player feedback, team culture surveys, or anything where you want people to vote honestly without worrying about who’s watching.

Voting ModeWho Can See Votes
Attributed (default)All channel members can see who voted for each option
AnonymousOnly vote counts are visible; individual votes are hidden

Voting on a Poll

Voting on a poll is as simple as tapping your choice:

  1. Find the poll in the channel conversation.
  2. Tap one or more options (depending on the poll type).
  3. Your vote is recorded instantly and the results update in real time.

Changing Your Vote

Changed your mind? No problem:

  • Single choice polls — Tap a different option to switch your vote.
  • Multiple choice polls — Tap an option again to deselect it, or tap additional options to add them.

Your updated vote is reflected immediately for everyone in the channel (or anonymously, if the poll is set to anonymous mode).

Viewing Results

Poll results are displayed in real time as a visual bar chart directly on the poll card:

  • Option bars fill proportionally based on the number of votes
  • Vote counts are shown next to each option
  • Total votes are displayed at the bottom of the poll
  • For attributed polls, you can tap an option to see the list of voters

Results update live as votes come in, so you can watch the team converge on a decision in real time. It’s like watching the disc float toward the endzone — except it’s your practice schedule.

Poll Use Cases

Here are some common ways teams use polls in UltiStackr:

ScenarioPoll TypeAnonymous?
”What time works for Saturday practice?”Multiple ChoiceNo
”Which jersey design do we go with?”Single ChoiceNo
”Rate this week’s practice (1-5)“Single ChoiceYes
”Which tournaments should we register for?”Multiple ChoiceNo
”Who should be our spirit captain?”Single ChoiceYes
”Are you available for the Friday night scrimmage?”Single ChoiceNo

Tips for Effective Polls

  • Keep options clear and concise — Avoid long paragraph options. Short labels get more engagement.
  • Use multiple choice for availability — “Select all dates that work” is far more efficient than asking one by one.
  • Go anonymous for sensitive topics — If you’re asking for feedback or making a decision that might feel political, anonymous mode encourages honest participation.
  • Post polls in the right channel — Team-wide decisions go in General. Coaching staff decisions might be better in a Group DM with your coaching team.
  • Follow up on results — Once voting wraps up, post a follow-up message confirming the decision. Close the loop so everyone knows the outcome.

Next up: Reactions — express yourself without cluttering the conversation.
