Season Roster
Your team roster might stay mostly the same year-round, but each season brings its own wrinkles — new recruits, shifting roles, different line assignments, and fresh jersey numbers. UltiStackr’s season roster overrides let you customize all of this per season without touching your permanent team roster.
Think of it like this: your team roster is the master list. Season rosters are overlays that adjust the details for a specific campaign.
What You Can Override
Season roster overrides give you control over the following for each player, scoped to the current season:
Player Roles
Override a player’s role for the season. Maybe someone who’s usually a cutter is stepping into a handler role this season, or a veteran player is taking on a coaching assistant role.
Available roles are inherited from your team’s role configuration, but you can assign any role per season without changing the player’s default team role.
Line Assignments
Assign players to lines for the season. Teams define their own custom lines (e.g., O Line, D Line, or any other lines your team uses), and players can be assigned to one or more of them. This is especially useful for:
- Club teams with dedicated offensive and defensive lines
- Coaches who want a clear starting point for game-day line calls
- Players who need to know their primary line heading into practice
Line assignments here are a starting point. You can still mix and match lines on game day using UltiStackr’s Game Day tools — season assignments just set the default.
Jersey Numbers
Assign or update jersey numbers for the season. This is common for teams that:
- Issue new jerseys each season
- Have players who switch numbers between league and club play
- Need accurate jersey numbers for tournament rosters and USAU registration
Jersey numbers set at the season level take precedence over any default number on the team roster.
Player Visibility
Sometimes a player on your team roster isn’t part of a particular season — maybe they’re injured, on leave, or playing with a different team. Instead of removing them from the team entirely, you can hide them from the season roster.
Hidden players:
- Won’t appear in the season’s roster view or line-up tools
- Won’t receive season-specific event notifications
- Won’t show up in season attendance or RSVP lists
- Remain on the master team roster, untouched
This keeps your overall team intact while showing only the active squad for the season.
Managing the Season Roster
Viewing the Roster
- Navigate to the Seasons tab and select your season.
- Tap Roster to see the season-specific player list.
Players are shown with their season overrides applied. You’ll see their season role, line assignment, jersey number, and active/hidden status.
Editing a Player’s Season Overrides
- From the season roster, tap on a player’s name or the Edit icon next to them.
- Update any of the override fields:
- Role — Select from the dropdown
- Line — Assign to one or more of your team’s custom lines
- Jersey Number — Enter the number for this season
- Visible — Toggle to show or hide the player for this season
- Tap Save.
Changes apply immediately to the season. The player’s master team profile is not affected.
Bulk Editing
Need to assign lines for the whole squad at once? Use the Bulk Edit option on the season roster page to update multiple players’ line assignments, roles, or visibility in one go.
- Tap Bulk Edit on the season roster.
- Use the checkboxes to select players.
- Choose the field to update (e.g., Line Assignment).
- Set the value and tap Apply.
Bulk edit is a huge time-saver at the start of a season when you’re sorting out who’s running with the O-line and who’s anchoring the D.
How Overrides Work
Season overrides follow a simple hierarchy:
- Season override exists? Use the season value.
- No season override? Fall back to the player’s default team roster value.
This means you only need to set overrides where something differs from the default. If a player’s role and jersey number haven’t changed, you don’t need to touch them — the master roster values carry through automatically.
Resetting Overrides
If you want to clear all season-specific changes for a player and revert to their team defaults:
- Open the player’s season override form.
- Tap Reset to Team Defaults.
- Confirm the reset.
This removes all season overrides for that player. They’ll still appear on the season roster using their master team roster values (unless you’ve hidden them).
